Most people throw away perfectly good running shoes - and I think we should really see a lot more persuading of people to donate their shoes to chariries like this. Very interesting post.

Hello Richard,
If you have not found a means to send to shoes yet to Haiti, call the Bull City Running Co. and ask for my information. They will be happy to give that to you so I may be able to help you.

Thanks!

I just ran my first Ultra (Terrapin 50K) last weekend and have to say with all the latest and greatest trail running shoes coming out, I still love the Brooks Cascadia....I've been thinking about going to a lighter more minimalist shoe but am curious to know the comfort level...running 10-15mi in any shoe is usually bearable (given proper sizing and fit) however after that the way a shoe stretches and or "rides" can be crucial to maintaining focus during the run. I've tried on various minimalist shoes from La Sportiva, Salmon, Inov-8 and it seems as though you would take a beating on the bottom of your feet...they need to have demo days :o) tough for me to drop $90+ on a "maybe this is for me"
