Run will be followed by prizes and free “Breakfast with Brooks” at the Bull City Running Co. — our local Brooks rep will provide breakfast for your post-run recovery.
Please call or email 919-265-3904/bullcityrunning@gmail.com for more info. or to register.
IMPORTANT INFO
Because this is a free fun run**, no formal registration is required, but you will need to print and sign the attached liability waiver and bring it with you on Saturday morning – if you emailed an RSVP for additional people, please forward this email along with the waiver.
Directions: The trailhead parking lot is on Fayetteville Rd. across from newhope Church. (From Bull City Running, you would take a right on Fayetteville Rd., cross over 1-40, pass Southpoint Mall, pass Massey Chapel Rd., and look for the trailhead on your right.) Here is a Google Map LINK. The map is old since it only shows an open space and not newhope church – but it is there.
Parking/Facilities: The trailhead parking lot will fill quickly, so newhope church has been very gracious and has allowed us to utilize their parking lot. If you park in the church parking lot, please keep it clean. There are no restroom facilities on sight, please come prepared.
Route/Water stop: For those unfamiliar with this side of the ATT, this is a soft surface trail. The footing can be a little rough in spots – this rain doesn’t help. Turnaround points for the 4-mile and 10-km distances will be marked – no additional mile posts will be marked. The 4-mile turnaround will be marked with two 2-mile markers on both sides of the trail. The 10k turnaround will be near the water stop at the 3.1 turn around.
Results: We will be testing out a timing system, so runners will be timed and we will post results on our website. You’ll be receiving index cards as you finish. If you want your place and time in the results, please fill out your full name and distance run (10k or 4-mile) – these cards will also be used for a raffle back at Bull City Running Company.
Post-race Refreshments and Goodies: After the run, we invite you to come back to Bull City Running Co. for some bagels, fruit, water/electrolyte drink and coffee. We’ll also be raffling off a couple pairs of shoes in addition to other goodies!
**A note about our fun runs: we hope to offer these events monthly as an opportunity to get the running community together for some fresh air and encourage your training for upcoming races. These are not sanctioned events and they are not “supported” at the same level as a typical “race” – i.e. watch for traffic. But, they are free and we hope you’ll have fun! Thanks for your participation!
