Registration & Packet Pick Up
Start Times •
40 mile start @ 7:00am (registration opens at 5:30a at the START AREA)
20 mile start @ 8:00am (registration opens at 6:30a at the ELDORADO OUTPOST)
8 mile start @ 9:00am (registration opens at 7:30a at the ELDORADO OUTPOST)

Packet Pickup • Bib numbers and shirts can be picked up at the pre-race dinner at The Exchange in Asheboro between 5:30-7:30pm on Friday, Feb. 3rd or on race morning, starting 90 minutes prior to your race. You must be present IN PERSON to receive your bib number. No one can pick up your number for you. Runners who pick up bib numbers on Friday night MUST ALSO check in Saturday morning prior to their race.
40-MILE RUNNERS: Race day packet pickup will be at the START area.
8 & 20 MILE RUNNERS: Race day packet pickup will be at the ELDORADO OUTPOST. This is the same location as where you will park and catch the shuttle bus to the start.
Entry Rules/Disqualification • Unregistered runners (pacers, companion runners, bandits) are NOT ALLOWED. Replacement runners or transfers are NOT ALLOWED. Breaking these rules is selfish. You are compromising not only your safety but also the safety, enjoyment and future of the entire event. Anyone breaking these rules will be disqualified from this and future races.
Team Competition • Top 5 runners per team scored. Winning team has lowest combined finishing place total across all 6 race categories (40m, 20m, 8m: men + women). No team registration on race weekend!
Voluntary Carbon Offset Contribution • As trail runners, we have a special obligation to protect and preserve the natural resources that we enjoy. We introduced a plan to make the Uwharrie Mountain Run a climate-neutral event. You can participate by making an optional $3 donation that we forward to NC Greenpower help offset your individual carbon footprint and by carpooling to the race.
Pre-Race Dinner • [SOLD OUT] A pre-race pasta party is held on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at The Exchange in downtown Asheboro, just 5 minutes from the race hotel and 35 minutes from camp. Tickets are $15 per person and must be purchased in advance. Lots of door prizes, beer/wine, and yummy deserts!
Awards • Awards are a special tradition at Uwharrie, a region known for its beautiful pottery. All finishers receive pottery awards crafted by Michael Mahan, a local Seagrove potter. The top 3 male and female winners in each race receive handmade commemorative pottery. Awards are presented as runners finish.
